Cottage at Pasha’s Farm

Imagine being in a wide field of grass as the Sun begins to set on a late November evening, surrounded by like-minded people. You are sipping tea, as a circle of conversation warms up. You have just done a wonderfully simple relaxation exercise with the group, and it has shut down the painful noises of the city and stress of work. As you relax, you take in the freshness of the air and the sounds of the farm.

In a setting reminiscent of “Survivor,” a bonfire is heating up for later in night. You head to a beautiful Sindhi-style cottage with the group to learning about the essentials of tuning back to Nature: our great Healer. That abundant source of relaxation and creativity. After a session of learning about life on the planet and our relationship to it, you get to the Bonfire to roast your own food, and huddle around the bonfire till late…

Early next morning, you take a trip around Pasha’s Farm - the setting for this cozy tale - and learn about life on the farm. You get your hands dirty in a “Grow Your Own Vegetables Workshop.” You are happy, and laughing, because you didn’t realize until then how beautiful it is to be in touch with nature again… to connect with our source. You wonder where your worries went?

There is more tea, more conversations, more group work, more happiness… As the Sun starts to decline, you head back home - fresh, cheerful, lively!

This is the picture of the 24 hours of camping, of learning about nature, of relaxation, and of possibilities of new friendships that we have planned for you.

Around the world, young people in local communities are taking workshops that are taking us closer to the source of our happiness: a deep connection with nature, with our planet, and with ourselves. Youth are learning farming in UK. Building homes with natural materials in USA. Wilderness survival in South Africa. And working with communities in Singapore.

Pakistan has rarely offered any such opportunities to urban adults. Until now. ALiVE! EnviroCamp1: “My Veggie Garden Workshop & Bonfire” is a first-of-its-kind overnight camp in Karachi for adults. Ages 16 and above.

Conducted by Tofiq Pasha, the celebrity TV gardener from Hum TV who has led a free spirited life, growing up close to natural environment.
